This is a collection of X-ray Absorption Spectra. The data here are intended to be of good quality, and on well-characterized samples, but no guarantees are made about either of these intentions.
Disclaimer:
All data files extracted from this library have
been put in the Public Domain, and can be used for any purpose, without
restrictions. To better explain the data, information is included about
the beamlines and facilities (typically federally funnded laboratories)
where the data were collected, and sometimes the people involved with the
measurement. This should not be viewed as an endorsement of the data or
as a notice of copyright. No additional permission is needed to use any
of the data in this library.
To import data into this library, the data must be in the XAS-Data-Interchange (XDI) format, and must have a file extension of '.xdi'.
A detailed description of this format can be found at XAS Data Interchange Specification. Example files are at Example XDI data and are available in this collection.
The XDI format has been designed to describe a single XAS spectrum in a way that conveys all the important information needed to work with and understand that spectrum.
A suite is a collection of similar spectra. From an organizational point of view, suites are simply tags that can be applied to spectra. Each suite can "have" multiple spectra in the sense that each tag can be applied to multiple spectra.
In addition, each spectra can be assigned to many suites. With this simple mechanism of tags, one can build complex sets of spectra, and be able to assemble suites of something like V oxides prepared by Person X and measured at beamline Y
Any individual spectra or suites of spectra can be rated and reviewed by any person who has logged in. Scores can range from 0 to 5 (similar to many on-line shopping sites), and comments or reviews on the spectrum or suite can be made.
To upload data, you must be logged in, and the data to load must be a valid XDI file.
